First Lebanon War Lieutenant Alon Ben-Nun Company Commander
Lieutenant Alon Ben-Non served as an operations officer in an infantry battalion during the "Peace of the Galilee" war. While the battalion was preparing for defense in a battle on the Beirut-Damascus axis, enemy fire was opened on the forward unit. A small force remained exposed to enemy fire. Lieutenant Alon Ben-Non jumped towards the abandoned tools and rescued him back under fire, while he himself was driving the tractor. During the rescue, one of the soldiers was injured. He jumped again and rescued him too towards shelter. In these actions he saved a wounded soldier, and showed courage, composure and devotion to the mission. For this act he was awarded a shadow Q.
